A new week

Hello on a beautiful Tuesday morning!

Temperatures are in the 40's, and the su
n is shining.

Today is the coldest day we've had so far this fall. The roads were very icy this morning, and the fields were white with frost.

Most of the leaves have fallen from the trees, and the days are quickly getting shorter. The time change gave us a bit more daylight in the mornings so it wasn't dark when Levi left for school, but it won't be long before we lose the light that we gained from that extra hour.

(To be totally honest, I love the short days and am looking forward to losing a few more hours of daylight! Shhh....don't tell the sun-loving Norwegians!
)

Emma and I are having fun with school. Yesterday we even decided to do school in our pajamas right after Levi and pappa left the house. Here is a playdough creation she made the other day...she uses it to make her letters, but always asks if she can have some time to just play when her letters are done. :-)

Yesterday morning we found all the winter gear in the attic and aired them out. It's a good thing too...we needed the warm jackets this morning! I wonder how long it will be before the snow comes?

We've got a pretty full week ahead of us and a full week behind us. (I didn't realize it's been almost two weeks since I last posted!)

Emma and I had a wonderful long-weekend in Bergen two weekends ago. As much as we didn't want to come back home, we did miss Markus and Levi a lot, so it was good to get back to the island. I was still struggling to get over that monster cold/virus that I've had since September, and finally went to the doctor a few days after I got home and he confirmed that I had a sinus infection. (My very first sinus infection, woo-hoo!) I got me some drugs and yesterday was the first day in many weeks that I've felt good, and today I feel even better. I am soooo thankful to be feeling back to normal!

We'll be celebrating Thanksgiving on Saturday with 20 family and friends...Markus is leaving on Monday for a week of meetings in Spain, and we wanted to celebrate with him here. So Saturday will be the day!

And guess what I bought today!?!?!

A turkey!
